Answers to common questions about reviews, credits and your documents.
Understanding your results
Blocking issues could stop your document being accepted or approved, so fix these first. Material issues weaken your case and are worth addressing before you submit. Minor issues are worth fixing but are unlikely to change the outcome. Issues are numbered with the most important first.
Every quote shown as coming from your document is checked against your document before the report is saved. Quotes that can't be verified word for word are never shown as quotes: they're removed or replaced with […].
Reviewer notes are written in each reviewer's own words, and any document quote inside them is checked the same way.
Alongside the three reviewers, a smaller model (a model from Anthropic) checks your document for clear errors only: spelling mistakes, names spelled inconsistently, numbers that contradict each other, and grammar that changes the meaning. It never comments on style, and it works in Croatian too.
Anything it finds appears in a separate Proofreading list inside the Minor section of your report. These aren't counted in the issue totals, and less certain ones are marked "probable". If the check couldn't run, the report says so. No Proofreading list means nothing was found.
AI reviewers don't give identical results every run. The most important issues usually come up consistently, while smaller points can vary. If something matters to you, treat a consistent finding as a stronger signal.
They review what's written in your document. They don't verify facts, figures or claims against outside sources, so important numbers and statements still need a human check. Like any reviewer, they can also miss issues or flag something that isn't a real problem. Treat the report as a strong second opinion, not a final sign-off.
In the second round, each reviewer reads the other reviewers' findings and backs, challenges or adds to them. Anything raised for the first time in this round is marked "Raised during cross-review."
Uploading documents
PDF and Word (DOCX) files up to 25 MB, with between 500 and 250,000 characters of text. Fully scanned PDFs (images of pages) can't be read yet and are rejected at upload, before any credits are used. If a PDF is mostly images, you'll see a warning before you pay.
Documents can be in English and most European languages. Reports are in English for now.
A scanned PDF is a picture of pages with no text inside, so there's nothing for the reviewers to read. Upload the original file (exported from Word or similar), or a PDF with selectable text.
Your document has very little readable text compared to its number of pages, for example a pitch deck made mostly of pictures and plans. The review will only cover the text we could read. You can still start it, or choose another file at no cost.
Upload the final or near-final draft, use the original file rather than a scan, and review one document at a time.
Credits and billing
By the number of characters in your document, not pages, so dense and sparse pages are treated fairly. You see the exact cost before you start a review. Full price bands are on the pricing page.
The credits are refunded to your account automatically. To try again, upload the file again.
Monthly credits come with a plan and are issued at the start of each billing period; unused monthly credits expire when that period ends (a plan started on the 8th renews on the 8th). One-time credits are valid for a fixed period. Monthly credits are always used first, and within each kind the credits that expire soonest go first.
Your documents and privacy
Your file and its text are deleted from our servers within minutes of the review finishing, whether it succeeds or fails. If a review crashes, the document is deleted within 24 hours. Backup copies expire within 7 days, and our AI providers may keep data for up to 30 days under their own policies, or up to 2 years for content Anthropic flags for misuse. Your report, which includes short quotes from your document, stays in your history until you delete it. Full details are on How we handle your documents.
An option when you upload. The report deletes itself 1 hour after you first open it, or 24 hours after the review finishes if you never open it. Download the PDF if you want to keep a copy.
Open the review and click Delete at the top right. It's removed straight away and can't be recovered.
How we handle your documents is explained in full on our privacy page.
